Following its integration into the Waséyabek portfolio, BLDI relocated its headquarters from downtown Grand Rapids to a 6,200 SF office building at 931 Interchange Drive in Holland. As Construction Manager, Construction Simplified partnered with BLDI, Waséyabek, MEM Designs, and Intune Engineering to turn the building into a modern workplace for the BLDI team.

The exterior, roof, and rooftop units were in good shape, but the interior was dated, with low wood-framed walls that stopped just above the ceiling. We removed them and rebuilt the layout with new steel stud walls, added sound control at the executive offices and conference room, and exposed and painted the existing bar joists and roof deck in the common areas. The scope also included new HVAC distribution from the existing units, a new electrical panel and power throughout, low voltage pathways for AV, security, and access control, and a new sanitary connection to the city sewer by directional drill.
