While his path in construction was anything but traditional, you will be hard pressed to find an individual that cares more for a project, and the people that are required to complete the job, than he does.  John was raised to have a love and respect for all individuals, especially those in the skilled trades, where to this day, allows him to easily be able to connect with a wide variety of individuals.  

Energized by this passion, John developed a burning desire to improve anything he could get his hands on which eventually led him into the automotive industry.  After receiving his degree in Applied Science in Laramie, Wyoming, John operated a custom automotive and boat upholstery business and later crated an opportunity to establish an in-house vehicle accessory sales and installation department within a premiere Michigan Jeep dealership.  Understanding the difference in a client’s needs and requirements plays as much of a role in the automotive world as it does when building a client’s construction investment. 

In 2018, John chose to pursue a new industry and joined the team at Construction Simplified.  With a daily pursuit to be the best Site Manager one will find, he knows it requires a unique and driven approach not typically found in this typical industry position.  His willingness to tackle what is required to achieve the desired outcome of the project, both internally at CS and externally for the client, is unmatched.  CS’ expectations of a Site Manager far exceed that of the industry norm and John always is bridging the gap between the field and the office as he can be found at the jobsite at 6am to coordinate the morning trades and then show up to the company team meeting by 8:30 at the office with a giant coffee in hand. Positivity is an infectious trait these days on a jobsite, so besides having your proper PPE on, a giant smile is going to be a requirement if you visit any of John’s many projects in West Michigan and beyond.

John & Sarah, along with a growing family of baby to a 12yr old, always have joy to share and problems to solve.  When the family decides the agenda, you’ll find them at Silver Lake Sand Dunes, camping in the numerous picture-perfect Michigan campsites, or getting a little rowdy at any putt-putt course within 200 miles of Grand Rapids.  John is passionate about showing all children, not just his own, that “Limitations only exist in the mind” and that you should never stop dreaming, at any age.
