BAMF Health is leading the nation in cutting edge Radio-pharmacy and cancer treatments and is the key anchor tenant in the new Doug Meijer Medical Innovation Center located at the gateway of Grand Rapid’s Medical Mile. The BAMF Health team has desired to establish their flagship corporate headquarters atop this new iconic building. Their team, in partnership with Michigan State University, will play a large role in the growth of this emerging science and bring continued notability to the nationally recognized Medical Mile. In order to succeed, BAMF knew they needed a team of professionals to execute the critical procurement, planning and construction efforts. Therefore, BAMF sought the professional services of our Construction Simplified team to serve as their Owner’s Representative partner as they embarked on the first steps.
The CS team led the project by first organizing the conversations into three key critical spaces to BAMF’s success; the Molecular Imaging Clinic which is located on the main floor of the facility, Theranostic Clinic directly above on level two, and Global Headquarters encompassing the majority of the seventh floor. This clarity allowed strict timelines, budgets, and performance metrics to be attributed to each use, but also allow the flexibility for varying schedules, designs, and construction overlap by the future CM and the trade partners. Additionally, with the proper planning foresight, our team is assisting BAMF in organizing the two clinics to be designed, scheduled, and budgeted to be duplicatable with consistency as BAMF and our team expand across the nation.
Moreover, our efforts championed most contract negotiations, further alignment with consulting and equipment teams, onboarding of necessary contractors and third-party vendors, as well as continually educating BAMF in the construction processes as a whole. Aligning patient care, provider resources, and regulatory expectations through intentional design is a constant high priority for our client, therefore every finite detail is purposefully curated to meet the overall goals and expectations in this first in class facility.
