Saturday mornings often started with Grandpa picking Jeff up, stopping at the corner for donuts and chocolate milk, and then venturing to the construction site to clean, mentor, and absorb life’s lessons. From these early jobsite visits until today, Jeff has been close and very passionate about the construction industry. What started as intrigue and a respect for the way things are built, and following the passions of his youth, Jeff started a framing and carpentry business that constructed 100+ homes throughout West Michigan.
Recognizing the need to advance his career during the residential building crash of 2008, Jeff pursued opportunities in the commercial construction industry. First, becoming the Construction and Facilities Manager for a national retail company managing projects in (36) states and over $50 million in total value. With the growth of his family and the desire to join in the urban revitalization of Grand Rapids, Jeff joined the largest real estate investment firm in West Michigan, managing the construction and tenant improvements across a portfolio of 35+ urban, retail and residential properties.
Jeff’s diverse background based in entrepreneurship, construction, and community investment ultimately led Jeff to the team at Construction Simplified. By implementing his knowledge and passion into each client’s project to help them realize their needs and vision. With a drive that is fed by loyalty, his actions towards each individual on the project empowers the understanding that every person’s involvement is critical. This directly impacts the level of success that a project realizes. This approach makes Jeff an invaluable leader to every team.
Away from the office and job sites, Jeff enjoys getting out with friends for a round of golf and the never-ending quest to find the brewery with the best IPA. With the help of his wife Ann, they enjoy hosting others to share in entertaining, cooking and mixing a cocktail. Making up the rest of the family are their 3 children, Layna, Taryn and Kennan.
